Marc Tremblay: A Life of Service to Berlin and Beyond

I’m Marc Tremblay, born and raised in Berlin, New Hampshire, where the rugged beauty of the North Country has shaped my life and values. From my early days, I’ve been driven by a deep commitment to my community, a passion for public safety, and a love for the outdoors that defines our way of life here in Coos County.

My journey in service began in 1977 as a Patrolman with the Berlin Police Department, walking the beat and learning firsthand what it takes to keep our streets safe. That experience ignited a lifelong dedication to public safety, which I carried forward as a Bailiff for the Coos County Sheriff’s Office from 2017 to 2020, ensuring order and security in our courts. Since 2015, I’ve served as Berlin Police Commissioner, working closely with law enforcement to protect our families and neighborhoods. My time as a New Hampshire State Representative from 2010 to 2012, serving on the Fish & Game and Marine Resources Committee, gave me a platform to advocate for the North Country’s unique needs, from preserving our natural resources to supporting our communities.

Beyond public safety and politics, my career reflects a hands-on approach to leadership. I spent over three decades with PSNH, starting as a Meter Reader in 1979, moving to Stock Handler, Lineworker, and eventually Working Foreman Line until 2011. Later, I served as a Senior Construction Representative for PSNH Guidant Projects from 2012 to 2014. At every step, I took on roles that demanded responsibility, teamwork, and a focus on safety, including serving on the PSNH Safety Committee and Accident Investigation Team. As a Shop Steward and member of the IBEW Negotiation Team from 1985 to 1994, I fought for fair treatment and safe working conditions, skills I bring to every challenge.

Education has been a cornerstone of my growth. I earned an Associate Degree in Land Management from NHCTC-Berlin between 1973 and 1976, followed by a year studying Automotive Technology. Over the years, I’ve honed my leadership through programs like the Manager as Coach Workshop, Customer Operations Leadership Development Program, and Leadership Seminars in Berlin, CT. Training as a Defensive Driving Instructor, NH Hunter Education Instructor, and Bailiff through the Administrative Office of the Courts has equipped me to serve with competence and care. I’m also proficient in computer skills—email, word processing, spreadsheets, and GPS navigation—keeping me connected and effective in a fast-changing world.

My commitment to Berlin runs deeper than my professional life. I’ve served on the St. Joseph Parish Council, chaired the Good Shepherd Parish Council, and sat on the boards of the Androscoggin Valley Country Club and Fish & Game. I’ve volunteered for decades as a Hunter Education Instructor, sharing my love for the outdoors with the next generation. Supporting Special Olympics and AVH Hospice has been my way of giving back to those who need it most. Whether it’s through the ISSI Corporate Challenge or my time as a licensed NH Hunting Guide and leashed dog tracker, I’ve always sought to strengthen our community.

When I’m not serving Berlin, you’ll find me embracing the North Country lifestyle—hiking, fishing, biking, golfing, snowshoeing, or riding ATVs and snowmobiles. I’m an avid reader, photographer, and tech enthusiast, always learning and staying engaged. These passions fuel my drive to protect what makes Berlin special.

As I run for State Representative, I’m focused on delivering practical solutions for a safer, stronger Berlin. With my experience, I’ll push for tougher laws to keep criminals off our streets and support community programs like youth mentorship and drug prevention to build a brighter future. Berlin is my home, and I’m ready to fight for it in Concord.
